Collection Dupe – Hourglass Holiday 2020 palette

I’m extremely tempted by this! I’ve been wanting to try Hourglass’s powder formulas for a long time…oh gosh, this decision is a tough one.

Ever since I got an Hourglass blush as an add-on from Boxycharm, I’ve been wanting to try more from the brand. I fell in love with the way the blush sits on my skin! (I have very normal skin) So that must mean other powder formulas from Hourglass will work well for me too, right?!

I did this look with sleek hair, glowy highlight, and glossy red lips to emulate the marketing image. I can certainly achieve that look with what I already own, so I don’t neeeddd Hourglass’s palette. I bought my Dior Backstage palette in Glitz nearly a year ago. I thought I’d get a lot of use out of it, but the pandemic situation proved otherwise. I’ve hardly used my Dior palette and would like to pan a few of the shades before it gets too old.

But the color scheme of the Hourglass palette is calling my name!

Some people might hate me for saying this, but I feel like if your skin is fairly good and not too problematic, you don’t have to spend a lot on complexion products.

Final Verdict: Perhaps on sale

  • In Canada, I can only get Hourglass cosmetics at Sephora. I already have $10 worth of points I can redeem and if I get an additional sale on top of that, I just might cave
  • On the other hand, it’s a hefty price tag for quite little product. For Hourglass products to be worth it for you, you must must must have a compatible skin type. According to the reviews I’ve seen, Hourglass’s powder formula works the best for people with normal skin that leans dry
