Welcome to another Boxycharm reveiw! I was so excited to thoroughly try this month’s products! Next month will be my last Boxycharm review for the time being. I’ve collected wayy too much makeup, so I’ll be trying out a skincare box instead. I’ve been leaning towards the Mask box from Beauteque Monthly, but let me know any of your recommendations!
Seasonal mood swings are like period cramps for me. I feel them oncoming and I’m like “here they are again.” Many people I know love the transition of summer to fall. But some of my close friends and I are more prone to feeling anxious, sad, or angry over things that normally wouldn’t affect us. So this week, I’ll be sharing three strategies that have been helping me through the transition.
How many of you have turned the heat on? One morning my family woke up and it was 17 degrees in the house. We thought we could just bundle up for now…but we caved. In spirit of the colder weather (and Halloween decorations being out), I’ll be sharing several fall trends that are so comfortable and wearable!
Hi everyone! You may have noticed I’ve been away. I was back in China and got sick immediately after. But at least I wasn’t sick during the trip. Which means more time for food and family (the two most important things in life). We were mainly in Beijing and Chengdu, so if you ever find yourself in those areas, I highly recommend trying these.
Capsule wardrobes always fascinated me because it doesn’t seem like a lot of clothes, but you can get so many combinations out of them! They’re also great for when you’re limited by dress code. I’ve been wanting to build one for a while….but it’s hard to do without specific guidelines. But now I have two- the dress code at my work is all black or mostly black. PLUS, the building is kept very chilly.
Have you ever had an outfit you wore so often that it would be your default look if life were a cartoon? There’s just something about that certain clothing combination that draws you in. You love wearing it and love seeing it on someone else. This week, I’ll be sharing quite a few combinations I never tire of. Potential fashion inspo ahead!
The theme of this month’s Boxycharm is parties and night life….which sounds about right. Summer’s almost ending and it’s time to make some crazy memories! When I saw the spoilers, I felt like this box can either go very well or very badly.
The anarchist in me is ranting about how the purpose of dress codes is to keep all workers the same. We’re all equally disposable and replaceable. There is nothing special about us as individuals, so we should just keep our heads down and work. However, the realist in me recognizes that workplace culture can make or break a company. And dress codes are a part of that culture. This week, I’ve come up with several tips to not feel like a robot in dress code.
So I guess my “emotional person’s guide” is a series now. Perhaps you’re emotional like me (do you cry no matter how many times you’ve seen Big Hero 6? Is your art heavily influenced by your emotional state? Do animal rescue videos make you uncontrollably tearful from happiness?) Or maybe you don’t experience extreme emotional highs and lows. No matter who you are, I hope this series will become something you can relate to and look forward to reading!
I’ve mentioned in my Summer Activities post that my friends and I will be taking a trip to Montreal this weekend. We’re going to Otakuthon (an anime convention held there) as well as doing some sightseeing. I’m particularly excited for Poutineville! Anyways, I’ve been inspired to share an incredible creative outlet with you guys- cosplay!
