Hi everyone! I know it’s rare for me to do a non-fashion post at the beginning of the month, but stick around to the end and you’ll see why. Anyways, I feel that self care isn’t internalized nearly enough. We can all talk about eating healthier, getting more sleep, more me-time, and less overthinking…but how many of us actually follow through on it? This week, I’ll be talking about self-care in three levels: the body, mind, and spirit.
So you’ve just got home from a hectic day and got almost no time at all to get ready for evening plans. Or maybe you’ve been lounging at home all day, blinked twice, and only have 15 minutes to get ready! As an accomplished rush-out-the-door girl, I’ve put together a guide that will get you ready with minimal time and effort.
I don’t consider myself to be extremely fashionable. I don’t scour the runways for inspo, keep up with magazines, or stan designers. I don’t meticulously put together outfits every morning. Instead, my fashion motto lately has been “beauty from within” or “try to look effortless.” This week, I’ll be sharing a few easy tricks on how to look and feel put together.
Have you ever had an outfit you wore so often that it would be your default look if life were a cartoon? There’s just something about that certain clothing combination that draws you in. You love wearing it and love seeing it on someone else. This week, I’ll be sharing quite a few combinations I never tire of. Potential fashion inspo ahead!
The fashion industry can be a vicious pit of consumerism and lifestyle marketing. But to me, fashion is first and foremost a form of self expression. Somehow, it has become rebellious to be individualistic when the media pushes for conformity. This week, I’m sharing some common traits of fashion rebels.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the flow of events shape a person’s life. Every choice we make now impacts the sort of choices we’ll have to make in the future. There are infinite realities and infinite ways things could have happened- and that’s a big cause of regret. Because we never know if a choice we’ve made was truly the best one.
It’s been a while since my winter activities post, so I decided to make one for summer as well! This summer is quite sentimental for me. It’s officially one year after graduating from University. One year of being in the adult world with no transcripts or profs to guide me. More importantly, a good friend of mine and I met a really awesome individual. She is just as creative and quirky as us, but she’s on Visa from Japan and leaving after Canada Day…so we’re making the most of the summer.
Styling challenges are always fun for me. I’m a firm believer in finding new combinations with my current wardrobe and showing some love to my under-worn pieces. I’ve had this maxi dress for about two years and have only worn it 2-3 times. To be honest, I’ve hardly ever worn maxi length anything. People tell me that I should since I have long legs, but I’ve always had trouble styling the dress. So here are my attempts at three different looks.
I woke up this morning and immediately sneezed 10 times. Then, I opened a snapchat from a friend with hay fever. Spring is finally here to stay, so it’s time for another trend report! Some of these trends I absolutely adore, and others aren’t for me. Here are some common patterns I’m noticing off the street that seem to make a comeback every year.
We’re finally getting some sun back in Toronto! April was a weird month. It was almost spring and then it wasn’t. My top outfits this month prioritized keeping warm, but still using trendy pieces. Bear with me if I seem less perky/bubbly than usual, it’s been a weird couple days and I’m trying to let go of negativity while learning from the situation.
