I suppose we have our own definitions of what exactly an ‘indulgence’ is. For me, it’s when I spend more than I normally would- could be just a touch, could be a lot. I’d feel a little guilty after, but it’s worth it most of the time.

I love sparkly things and bling. But I don’t have the patience to keep a huge jewelry collection or match my accessories to my outfit everyday. Here’s how I’ve been accessorizing my life with minimum effort.
Do clothes get stressful sometimes?
As I mentioned in my post on confidence earlier, January and February are hard hard hard months. I don’t know about you, but my moods are typically the lowest in the weeks before spring. So this week, I’ll be sharing some tips on how to feel better from the outside – with fashion and style!
Capsule wardrobes always fascinated me because it doesn’t seem like a lot of clothes, but you can get so many combinations out of them! They’re also great for when you’re limited by dress code. I’ve been wanting to build one for a while….but it’s hard to do without specific guidelines. But now I have two- the dress code at my work is all black or mostly black. PLUS, the building is kept very chilly.
The anarchist in me is ranting about how the purpose of dress codes is to keep all workers the same. We’re all equally disposable and replaceable. There is nothing special about us as individuals, so we should just keep our heads down and work. However, the realist in me recognizes that workplace culture can make or break a company. And dress codes are a part of that culture. This week, I’ve come up with several tips to not feel like a robot in dress code.
It feels sort of weird writing about things I want instead of stuff I already own, but here we go. I’ve been dressing like a potato sack all winter to keep warm, and now it’s finally about time to shed all those oversize sweaters. It’s shopping time!
My friends and I joke all the time about spontaneously getting on a plane, escaping the continent, and never looking back. Bad breakup? Not sure where you’re going with life? Broken nail before a big event? Hop on a plane and never return. It really makes me think about the days before technology where you could actually start a new life somewhere else with a new identity and nobody would raise an eyebrow.
Anyways, here are five pieces I’d bring with me if I had 20 minutes to get to the airport and never return.
We all have moments when we fall in love with a totally rad garment…until we see the price tag. Yes, I’m talking about those times when we question if $60 for this top is worth it. It’s about investment pieces nowadays. Meanwhile, our inner hoarders will try to convince us that everything is worth investing in. Over the years (and tons of trial and error), I’ve come to make peace with my inner clothing goblin. Here is my wardrobe spending guide- aka. when to splurge and when to save.
